Protection opens the door. Integration builds a future.
The idea for Act for Refugees in the World was born in 2012, in Malaysia. In Nilai, Kila Narcisse Dion worked alongside Mrs. Christine Youbong of the Catholic church, helping refugees from Myanmar and other Southeast Asian countries. It was from this shared experience that the organization was born, founded in Côte d’Ivoire in 2013 and incorporated in Canada in 2019.
A.R.W. — Act for Refugees in the World — is a nonprofit founded in Côte d’Ivoire in 2013 and incorporated in Canada in 2019. Our mission is to protect refugees and help them build safe, independent lives. A.R.W. serves refugees worldwide and across all of Canada.
Through our social branch, Agissons, we also support youth and women. Since 2019, we have helped asylum seekers integrate into Canadian society. Since March 2026, we have acted against the deportation of asylum seekers at Canadian airports.
